Apis Capital Advisors was founded by Partners Daniel Barker (Portfolio Manager) and Eric Almeraz (Director of Research) in April 2004. The firm is a global equity hedge fund manager with two distinct long/short investment strategies and one long-only, all focused on small- and medium-capitalization securities. 

Apis employs a fundamental, bottom-up research process and takes a borderless approach to stock selection. The manager's geographic concentration is primarily North America, Asia and Europe (with limited EM exposure). While the firm is a generalist long/short & long-only equity investor, our borderless approach naturally lends itself to globally oriented sectors such as Technology, Healthcare, Industrials/Materials, and Consumer.

Our Founding Partners – Daniel Barker and Eric Almeraz – have significant international investing experience and have been working together for more than 20 years.
