Willis Towers Watson’s Asset Management Exchange (AMX) hedge fund platform has announced a trio of senior hires as part of an ongoing expansion drive.
Nick Horsfall has joined the platform as managing director in the client business development team. In his new role, Horsfall will be responsible for building client relationships with UK pension schemes.
Horsfall will also work closely with the AMX Advisory Board and use his technical knowledge and experience to bring liability driven investing strategies onto the platform. He joins from Willis Towers Watson’s investments business, where he has over 30 years’ experience in the retirement and investment industries.
AMX has also appointed Cassie Waller as its global head of intermediaries. She joined the company from Syntax Research, a Florida-based hedge fund, where she served as COO and chief marketing strategist, according to her LinkedIn profile. Prior to Syntax, she worked for State Street from September 2006 to July 2015, covering UK asset owners and consultants.
Finally, the alternative asset management marketplace has hired Pippa Rudling as consultant relations director. She joined AMX from Aberdeen Standard Investments where she worked for 10 years in similar roles, according to her LinkedIn profile. In her new role, she will be covering UK consultants as well as identifying strategic intermediary partnerships across Europe.
Willis Towers Watson has been increasing headcount since its launch in February 2017 in response to strong inflows into the funds on its platform. AuM on the exchange have more than doubled in 2018, rising from around $3bn to nearly $7bn.
“These new hires bring a raft of additional experience to AMX and will drive our expansion,” said Oliver Jaegemann, global head of AMX.
“As more investors and managers join the AMX platform, it’s vital that we have the relevant team in place to deliver the best results for investors, managers and ultimately the end saver,” he added.
Magnetar and Lomas are the most recent firms to list funds via AMX. Other managers on the platform include Graticule, Fulcrum, Wadhwani, Systematica and GSA Capital.
