BlackRock’s managing director and legal counsel in Asia, Yvonne Tsui, is leaving the firm and joining multi-strategy giant Citadel later this year.
AsiaHedge has learned that Tsui, who has been with BlackRock since 2010, has already resigned from BlackRock. She will be joining Citadel later this year in Hong Kong as general counsel for the region reporting to Shawn Fagan, Citadel’s chief legal officer based in Chicago.
Citadel’s hedge fund business was established by CEO Kenneth Griffin in 1990 and currently runs more than $29bn in assets under management globally.
The firm has two offices in the region, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
In 2002, Griffin established Citadel Securities. a trading firm separate from its hedge fund business. Both businesses are understood to be expanding their operations in the region.
