The head trader at Hong Kong-based hedge fund manager BosValen, Simon Kemp, is leaving the firm after four years.
Kemp helped build the trading infrastructure at the firm, which was established in 2014 by CIO Ken Xu, a former portfolio manager at Steve Cohen’s SAC Capital, now Point72 Asset Management, and manages over $500m in assets on behalf of a range of global investors.
It is unclear what Kemp’s plans are after BosValen.
Prior to BosValen, Kemp was regional head of trading at Mount Kellett Capital and before that was trader at several firms including Och-Ziff Asset Management, Gandhara Advisors and Commerzbank.
Kemp’s departure comes at a time when BosValen is understood to be expanding and is actively recruiting for several business units.
