A former relationship manager at financial workstation provider Bloomberg has taken an investor relations role at Hong Kong-based macro manager Bright Stream Capital Management.
Amy Cheung joined Bright Stream as a vice-president this month, founder and portfolio manager Yip Ka Hay confirmed to HFM InvestHedge.
Cheung worked at Bloomberg for over six years, according to her LinkedIn profile.
During her time at the firm, she was latterly a member of its hedge funds and family offices sales team.
Prior to joining in 2012, Cheung worked as an Asia-Pacific-focused associate at financial services recruiter Hutton Consulting for over a year.
Before that, she spent just under a year as a researcher for rival recruiter Principal & Partners.
Ka Hay founded Bright Steam in 2015. He previously spent six years managing his own money following a two year-stint running SAC Advisors’ $300m Asia macro strategy.
Bright Stream’s macro fund specialises in Asian FX and interest rate trading, and was up 5.7% this year as of June, according to HFM data. It manages around $47m.
