Ex-Goldman Sachs exec joins MaiCapital

MaiCapital, the cryptocurrency hedge fund manager which launched in September, has hired former Goldman Sachs executive director Marco Lim.

Lim joins the firm as managing partner and chief strategy officer.  Lim, who has over 10 years in institutional FX sales and trading experience, will focus primarily on marketing and strategic partnership at the Hong Kong based manager.

The firm’s flagship product, the Blockchain Opportunity Fund SP,  runs quantitative trading, arbitrage, and ICO investing strategies. Its proprietary trading model (Mai-α) analyzes blockchain data to capture arbitrage and market opportunities in cross-exchange and crypto-pairs, it said.

The long-term digital assets of the SFC-registered firm are stored in an independent third-party custodian cold storage account to secure them and ensure they are available to meet investor redemption and verification requirements.
