An associate legal director working at FoHF Paamco Prisma has left to work as an assistant general counsel in JP Morgan Asset Management’s (JPMAM) New York office.
Russell McAleavey worked at Paamco Prisma for over four years, according to his LinkedIn page.
A spokesperson for JP Morgan confirmed McAleavey’s hire, but declined to comment further.
From 2014 to 2017, McAleavey worked at KKR as a principal.
Prior to that, he spent just under a year as an associate at law firm Ropes & Gray.
During his time at the business, he advised hedge funds on fund formation, management company structuring, regulatory compliance, and operational issues.
Before that, McAleavey worked at Fried Frank for over five years where he advised hedge funds on a variety of issues.
Assets under management at JPMAM, which includes multi-strat firm Highbridge Capital Management which the bank purchased in 2009, stood at $47bn at midyear last year, according to HFM data.
Paamco Prisma manages $30bn across equities, traditional alternatives and fixed income, according to its website.
Paamco Prisma declined to comment.
