Singapore’s Judah Value Activist Fund, an activist strategy run by Roland Jude Thng, recently received a $50m capital commitment from an unnamed institutional investor.
The firm, which is on the Swiss-Asia platform, launched last January and now has a fund size of $78m.
The fund delivered 53.22% in 2018, with its investment in Hong Kong listed Agritrade Resources contributing the most to the gain. That company was recently included in the Hang Seng Composite Index and the Hang Seng Stock Connect Index.
Judah Value is also looking to anchor up to $6.37m for the proposed HKEX IPO of a famous food franchise that is headquartered in Singapore.
The fund is up 10% so far this year, while its benchmark MSCI Asia (ex-Japan) is up 7.70% by the end of February.
