Dutch FoHF firm Theta Capital Management has hired former Adamas Capital Partners COO Marc de Kloe as a partner.
De Kloe will focus on developing Theta’s offering for its client base and work with the team to reinforce its investment and operational processes.
He spent just under three and a half years at Adamas, where he oversaw the finance, legal, compliance and product specialist teams for the Hong Kong-based multi-manager firm. He left in October 2018. It is not known who has replaced de Kloe at Adamas.
Prior to that, de Kloe was head of alternative investments and funds for ABN Amro for over six years, where he was focused on developing, implemented and controlling their private banking product suite, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Theta was founded in 2001. The firm helps institutional investors to access “specialised, value-added investment strategies” through individual accounts, white-labelled solutions and commingled funds.
Clients include some of The Netherlands’ largest family offices and UHNWIs, according to the firm.
Its Legends Fund, which managed just over $300m as of 31 January, invests in 10 to 15 hedge fund managers with an average track record of over 15 years, with the portfolio split between long/short equity, global macro and relative value.
The fund dropped 7.4% last year, according to performance data seen by HFM InvestHedge, while the HFM InvestHedge Multi-Strategy dollar and euro-denominated indices lost 1.6% and 5.3% respectively.
De Kloe is also a co-founder of Alternatives4Children, an industry charity which has raised over €1m for needy children since it launched in 2011.
