Submitted 24/05/2021 - 4:56pm

Adams Street Partners, LLC, a private markets investment management firm with approximately USD45 billion of assets under management, has appointed Yohan Hill  as Director of ESG and Responsible Investing.

Adams Street is a long-time practitioner of responsible investing. The firm has been a signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) since 2010, supports the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and actively integrates environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into its investment process.

Hill will develop strategies and solutions that bring further transparency to ESG risks and opportunities within Adams Street’s portfolios and investments. His expertise will be valuable for the firm’s fund managers and portfolio company management as they work to integrate ESG factors into their business activities.

“Responsible investing and the application of ESG analysis to investments has become an imperative for many private markets investors,” says Miguel Gonzalo, Partner and Head of Investment Strategy & Risk Management, Adams Street. “Adding Yohan’s experience and leadership to the Investment Strategy and Risk Management Team will accelerate the expansion of Adams Street’s approach to ESG.”

“There are tremendous opportunities to develop innovative ESG solutions and analytics for our clients,” says Hill. “Adams Street’s breadth of relationships, proprietary data, and robust risk management framework have established a strong platform from which the firm intends to create a leading-edge ESG program.”

Hill’s career in the fields of ESG research and sustainability spans two decades, helping both companies and financial institutions minimise exposure to ESG risks and maximise positive ESG impact. Prior to joining Adams Street Partners, Hill served as Manager of ESG Innovation and Analytics at S&P Global Trucost, where he provided data leveraged analytics and insights on ESG performance to several businesses and investors. Before that, Hill spent more than 10 years in several roles as both a consultant and analyst of corporate ESG policies. Hill earned an MSc in Environmental Technology from the Imperial College London and a BSc in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of West Indies. He holds a CFA UK Level 4 Certificate in ESG Investing.
