Alderwood Capital makes two senior hires

Submitted 15/03/2021 - 9:39am

Alderwood Capital (Alderwood), a London-based fund manager, has made two further senior hires – Ryan Sinnott as Partner and member of the Investment Committee, while Jonathan Crawford has been appointed Partner, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

With over twenty years’ experience, both in the UK and Australia, Sinnott has a long and successful track record in the asset management and financial services industry. Sinnott joins Alderwood from Northill Capital where he worked closely with Alderwood Founder and Managing Partner Jon Little and was the Director of Strategy and Development. Prior to his role at Northill, Sinnott was the Director of Strategy and Development at BNY Mellon Asset Management, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions and execution of strategic projects. Significant projects included the acquisitions of Capital Four and Longview Partners, on behalf of Northill, and Insight Investment Management, during his time at BNY Mellon.

Crawford is a lawyer and compliance professional with over twenty years’ experience in financial services. Prior to joining Alderwood as a consultant in 2020, Crawford enjoyed successful interim spells as Head of Corporate/M&A at RBS, Head of Executive Governance at Santander UK plc as well as senior consultancy roles with Citibank, Natixis Global Asset Management and Invesco.  He was formerly a corporate partner at law firms Mayer Brown and Speechly Bircham.

Founded by Jon Little, the former founder and managing partner of Northill Capital, Alderwood seeks to provide equity capital to specialist boutique active managers through investment in GP (General Partner) stakes.

Jon Little, Managing Partner of Alderwood Capital, says: “These are important appointments for Alderwood, reflecting our ambitious growth plans. Ryan is highly regarded in the industry and brings significant experience and expertise to the team having worked on and led some very successful acquisitions. His track record speaks for itself and he will be a tremendous asset to the firm. Jonathan is a seasoned legal and compliance professional with an impressive background in banking and financial services. He has been supporting us as a consultant from the start and has been highly effective. I’m pleased we could persuade him to join us as a Partner.”

The appointments are effective 1 April and both will be based in Alderwood’s London office in Covent Garden.
