Blue Bear Ventures Medium Post - 2020 Year In Review

It goes without saying that 2020 was indeed a tumultuous year. But as we adapted alongside our portfolio companies, we persevered with cautious optimism as we transition into 2021. As quickly as the US economy hit a recession last February, the investment and venture community’s turnaround has been almost as rapid. The backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic and noticeable effects of climate change (the largest wildfire season recorded in California’s modern history, the record-breaking Atlantic hurricane season and the second warmest year globally on record) have bolstered our investment themes in critical areas of technologies to meet global demands. As a result, our portfolio has not only managed to survive this economic crisis, but many have thrived under the circumstances.
As we closed out 2020, we would like to share some highlights, observations, and outlooks with valued members of our community.
