The micro carrier beads come under a broader market category of micro carriers. What is a micro carrier? A micro carrier is a nontoxic, finely particulate material used to grow cells in a suspension or a support matrix, which facilitates the growth of adherent cells in a bioreactor. In this example, cell based vaccines use cell lines for viral production in a controlled and closed manufacturing process.
