Hello, my name is Andrea Alms. I'm technology investor and financial manager and this is your money in motion. On the last episode we introduced ETF market. Now we're taking a deep dive into the multitrillion dollar market. As you may recall, in the U.S.. ETF assets under management has grown to $59 trillion in 2021 at a compound average forecasted growth rate between 2019 and 2028.
On the market concentration that currently ETF is at a medium concentration with some of the major players being JPMorgan, Vanguard, BlackRock, Invesco and WisdomTree. The Race to zero in 2020. Wall Street Journal article by Michael Wilton wrote about the glaring differences between ETFs that is fees so much so some of the biggest asset managers were creating cheaper knockoffs of their own most popular ETFs.
The move was unthinkable a decade ago. Imagine asking asset managers risking cannibalizing their most popular product by redirecting assets into their own other fund. That was then. What about now? After more than a decade of fits and starts, active management is gaining traction in ETFs. Inflows into active Lee Managed ETFs in the first six months of 2021 Top 55 billion.
