Press Release – 5G Ventures And University Of Patras Sign Memorandum For The Development Of 5G Ecosystem

The University of Patras and 5G Ventures SA have signed a memorandum for know-how exchange and the support of enterprises that develop 5G-related products and services. The partnership encourages innovation and entrepreneurship and promotes the use of Greece’s human capital and its connection with the market.

The memorandum notes among others that:

• 5G Ventures and the University of Patras will exchange information on technology matters, best practices, and issues about innovation and the development of an ecosystem for startups. Furthermore, partnerships between startups, the University and the industry will be promoted, while incubation and business acceleration programmes will be developed.
• The two sides will work together for the technical evaluation of business plans submitted by already existing or startups to 5G Ventures
• Enterprises participating in programmes of the University and are considered by it for having remarkable growth prospects can be proposed for evaluation by 5G Ventures for potential financing from Phaistos Investment Fund.
• 5G Ventures and the companies Phaistos has invested in, will organize seminars and workshops to undergraduate and postgraduate students of the University about entrepreneurship, investments, technology utilization, product and service development, marketing, and sales. 

The agreement is part of the strategy of 5G Ventures S.A for the creation of a 5G ecosystem in Greece in cooperation with the academic community. Already established and startup companies will participate in the ecosystem for the development of innovative solutions that take advantage of the capabilities of 5G.
