Jörn Matthias Häuser and Wolfram Peters join Quantumrock senior-executive council
Quantumrock is pleased to announce that Jörn Matthias Häuser and Wolfram Peters have joined the firm’s senior-executive council.
Established last month, the senior-executive council is made up of now four well-known advisors within the wealth and asset management industry in Germany. Its objective is to provide counsel to Quantumrock’s senior executives and support the company with its objective to grow the business across Europe and internationally.
Stefan Tittel, CEO of Quantumrock said:
“We are thrilled to be growing our senior-executive council from two to four members by having Wolfram and Jörn join the group. Their calibre and years of experience in wealth and asset management will be incredibly valuable as we continue to grow our client base in Europe and beyond.”
Wolfram Peters is the former Global Chief Risk Officer and board member of Allianz Global Investors GmbH in Germany. During his 16 years at Allianz, Wolfram had numerous senior roles within the firm’s risk function including a focus on enterprise risk management across all risk types and setting up a global risk function. Before joining Allianz, Wolfram spent six years at McKinsey & Company within their German and European financial services division consulting on credit and market risk management.
Jörn Matthias Häuser is the former COO of Deutsche Oppenheim Family Office AG and COO of Sal. Oppenheim. Jörn spent 20 years with the Deutsche Bank Group, where he held various management positions in wealth and asset management. Prior to joining the Deutsche Bank Group, Jörn worked as a strategy consultant at Mitchell Madison Group.
Commenting on his appointment Wolfram Peters said:
“Quantumrock combines, in a new way, deep capital market expertise with cutting-edge analytical techniques and machine learning. The team has managed to identify sustainable sources of return on very liquid underlyings using a machine learning approach tailored to the financial markets.
“Since the launch of its Volatility Special Opportunities Program (VSOP) in 2016, the strategy has successfully weathered significant market turbulences experienced last year and in 2018. I am looking forward to working with the team to scale up the firm’s intellectual capital and make the strategy available to a broader investor base.”
Commenting on his appointment Jörn Matthias Häuser said:
"Applying A.I. to investment management is significantly harder than ‘classical’ machine learning applications like image or speech recognition, not least since markets are dynamically changing rather than static, and signal to noise ratios are much lower.
“Drawing on years of experience and in-depth research, Quantumrock applies machine learning / A.I. to quant investment management uniquely and innovatively. They have created an A.I. platform that automates the process from machine learning, vetting and overfit testing that effectively fights quicker alpha decay, all the way through to fully automated trading. I look forward to working with this young, dynamic, and highly intelligent team at the forefront of this new technology.”
