Peter Thiel’s Macro hedge fund has acquired a roughly $76m position in Argentine oil producer Vista, giving the billionaire’s hedge fund a 1% holding in one of the key operators in the country’s Vaca Muerta shale basin, according to a report by Reuters.
The report cites a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing as showing that the fund bought approximately 1.2 million American Depositary Shares in Vista, representing around 1% of the company’s outstanding capital.
