After I got back into the office after attending this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, this was the first thing one of my partners had to say to me at our weekly Monday meeting. I couldn’t agree more.Over a third of the show was represented by startups - companies that have been in business for less than ten years. Just a few years ago, the automotive floor at CES was a backwater filled with aftermarket stereos; this year, every major automaker showcased their latest autonomous vehicles. Drones, VR, wearables and home automation trumped big screen televisions.What’s next? Watch for an even stronger robotics presence at the 2017 CES. Two early robotics categories include drones and cars, and it’s very early days for both.
