Paceline Equity Partners has agreed to sell R.E.L.A.M., a North American lessor of maintenance-of-way and hi-rail equipment serving rail operators and contractors across the U.S. and Canada.Paceline acquired R.E.L.A.M. alongside 1435 Rail and combined the businesses to form the current platform. Dallas-based R.E.L.A.M. operates a fleet of about 1,500 specialized rail maintenance assets and provides leasing and related support services for rail infrastructure projects.
Under Paceline’s ownership, R.E.L.A.M. expanded its fleet, added senior executives, broadened service offerings and completed two acquisitions while divesting non-core operations. Paceline said the initiatives helped triple revenue and positioned the company as a pure-play maintenance-of-way and hi-rail leasing platform. The transaction is expected to close by the end of May 2026. Houlihan Lokey advised Paceline on the sale, while King & Spalding served as legal counsel. Sam Loughlin and Leigh Sansone led the transaction for Paceline.
